FAMILY THEME: THE GOSPEL CHANGES CULTURE

John 3:16-17 ; Acts 19:11-20 ; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 ;

2 Peter 3:8-9

The gospel not only has the power to change an individual life, 

but the entire culture of a city.

1.  There is Hope for Any Culture

     (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

     Culture is all about people. God can redeem and change

     the culture one person at a time.

 
2.  Jesus is the Only Hope for the World

     (Acts 19:11-20)

     No matter what strength the grip of darkness may have,

     the power of Jesus can break any hold.

     

3.  Jesus Wants to Give the World Hope

     (John 3:16-17 ; 2 Peter 3:8-9)

     God's love for the broken people of this world motivated

     Him to send Jesus.

FAMILY THEME: THE GOSPEL CHANGES LIVES

Acts 9:1-31

The conversion of Saul the persecutor is one of the greatest

testimonies of the power of the gospel to save and transform.

1.  The Gospel Introduces People to Jesus, the Changer of Lives

     (Acts 9:1-9)

     Jesus can change anyone's life. Such a change requires

     accepting Jesus as He truly is and cooperating with His

     plans for your future.

 
2.  The Gospel Can Transform Anyone

     (Acts 9:10-16 ; 26-29)

     Saul's life was completely transformed and he became an

     integral part of what God was doing.

     

3.  The Gospel Transforms Our Priorities

     (Acts 9:20-25 ; 29-31)

     Immediately upon meeting Jesus, Paul stopped caring

     about pleasing his peers and only cared to serve the Lord.

FAMILY THEME: THE GOSPEL DEMANDS TO BE SHARED

Matthew 28:18-20 ; Acts 1:6-11 ; Romans 10:8-17

Sharing the Gospel is an essential part of being a disciple of Jesus.

1.  Sharing the Gospel is Worship

     (Matthew 28:18-20)

     To worship God properly requires declaring His glory and

     calling others to recognize Him as God.

 
2.  Sharing the Gospel is Our Purpose

     (Acts 1:6-11)

     Taking the gospel to the ends of the earth requires us to

     work together.

     

3.  Sharing the Gospel is Essential

     (Romans 10:8-17)

     It is good news to know God will save everyone who

     calls on Jesus.

FAMILY THEME: THE GOSPEL IS POWERFUL

Romans 1:16-17 ; Galatians 3:1-14, 23-29 ; 

1 Corinthians 1:18 - 2:5

In order to faithfully share the gospel, disciples of Jesus must be

confident in the power of the gospel to save the lost.

1.  The Gospel is Infused With the Nature and Power of God

     (Romans 1:16-17)

     There is supernatural power in the gospel message to

     cause people to see their need for Jesus.

 
2.  The Gospel Transcends All Boundaries

     (Galatians 3:1-14, 23-29)

     God's desire is that all people be saved. He has designed

     everyone to worship and be satisfied by Him.

     

3.  The Gospel Empowers Our Efforts as We Share It With Others

     (1 Corinthians 1:18 - 2:5)

     Since the power of the gospel comes from God's nature,

     its effectiveness is not contingent upon our abilities.
