Helping the Elderly

Marlena Ellis reports the following needs for the elderly:

a bible(woman),

the ottoman we asked for needs to be 16-20" high, rollers would be nice and dark green or brown would be nice;

cotton night gown size 2x

pajama pants 1xg

cotton T shirt 3xl;

womens sweat pants (with elastic waist) and/or shirts size xlg,

sheets for a double bed.

Facility would like DVD projector so movies could be shown on large screen.

roaster that goes into our small ovens

cake pans and cookie sheets

Towels, sheets- twin, full, queen

dishes, stand mixer, baking pans, cookware

Wall hangings

TV Trays or small wooden tables

lamps & standing lamps, area rug

vaporizer

Food

Love seat(blues or brown color), 2nd love seat

chest of drawers - 2

Twin bed, full bed, queen bed and mattresses

Couch-3 and recliner -3 (1 for a man).Tall ottoman( for a tall lady).

Sweat pants (elastic waist and shirts(XLG, for a woman) & XL shirts

computer, laptop

lady needs rides to Grove to get teeth( will try to help pay gas)

Today's Lesson

How does Jesus intend for us to love others?

We look to His example: how does He love us?

1. He loves us selflessly. Phil. 2:7-8
2. He loves us understandingly. Heb. 4:15-16
3. He loves us forgivingly. 1John 1:9
4. He loves us sacrificially. James 1:12-15; Heb. 12:2

Therefore, we are called to love others selflessly, understandingly, forgivingly, and sacrificially.

This is how people will know His love and want to know Him, too!

Practical love provides motivation: 1John 3:16-18; Gal. 5:22, Gal. 6:8

*Walking in the Holy Spirit*
John 16: 13 He guides us into all truth.
Rom. 8:11 He quickens us.
Rom. 8:14 He reveals His plan for us.
Rom. 15-16 He assures us we are children of God.
1Cor. 12 He equips us with spiritual gifts.
Rom. 8:26 He intercedes for us.
Eph. 1:15 He seals our salvation.

The Believer's Relationship with the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit:
*Baptizes us Acts 1:4-5
*Indwells us I Cor. 3:16
*Assures us of our Salvation Rom. 8:16
*Is the earnest of our Salvation; proves the Word is true Eph. 1:13-14

"The Holy Spirit came to carry the evidence of the Bible into the human heart."

In our lives, the Holy Spirit:
*Teaches us, guides us, reminds us what we've learned John 14:26
*Points to Christ John 15:26
*Convicts us of sin, righteousness, and judgement John 16:8-13

We need to be Prayed Up, Filled Up, and Studied Up so we can Speak Up!
