FAMILY THEME: HOLY LIVING

A DIFFERENT WAY TO LIVE

I Thessalonians 4:1-12
Paul's instructions on personal purity help us to
understand holy living.

1.  Holy Living Is Living to Please God
     (I Thessalonians 4:1-2)
We build lives of holiness on a desire to please God.

2.  Holy Living Includes Practicing Sexual Purity
     (I Thessalonians 4:3-8)
God has a purpose for us all, and part of that purpose
is for us to be holy.

3.  Holy Living Is Loving One Another and Minding Our
     Own Business
     (I Thessalonians 4:9-12)
True Christian love is shown through actions.

WHEN LOVE OVERFLOWS

I Thessalonians 2:17 - 3:13
Paul expressed a deep love for the Thessalonians.

1.  Abounding Love Leads Us to Care for One Another
     (I Thessalonians 2:17 - 3:13)
Paul's care for the Thessalonians proved his love for them.

2.  Abounding Love Causes Thankfulness and Prayer
     for One Another
     (I Thessalonians 3:7-10)
Paul felt as though his well-being was linked with their
     standing firm in the Lord.

3.  Abounding Love is a Work of God in Us
     (I Thessalonians 3:11-13)
Paul prayed that Christian love among the Thessalonians
     would increase and abound.

FAMILY THEME:  INTEGRITY

WALK THE WALK

I Thessalonians 2:1-16
Paul's ministry in Thessalonica is an example of integrity
in action.

1.  Integrity is About Pleasing God, Not Men
     (I Thessalonians 2:1-6)
Paul's integrity is clearly seen in that he preached
the gospel for the glory of God, not profit from man.

2.  Integrity is About Our Lives; Not Just Our Message
     (I Thessalonians 2:7-12)
Paul demonstrated integrity as he lived what he
     preached.

3.  Integrity is About Dealing With Difficulties
     (I Thessalonians 2:13-18)
The standard of integrity doesn't change when
     times get tough.

FAMILY THEME:  EXAMPLE

THE RIGHT EXAMPLE

I Thessalonians 1:1-10
The Thessalonian church set a good example for others
to follow.

1.  Good Spiritual Fruit is Cause for Thanksgiving
     (I Thessalonians 1:1-3)
Paul was thankful for the church's commitment to
Jesus despite the antagonistic culture in which they
     lived.

2.  True Conversion is Demonstrated by Actions
     (I Thessalonians 1:4-7)
The lives of the Thessalonians made it evident they
     had genuinely been saved.

3.  A Godly Example Has a Far-Reaching Impact
     (I Thessalonians 1:8-10)
The Thessalonian believers became models for all
     the Greek believers.
