FAMILY THEME: THE GOSPEL IS FOR EVERYONE

Acts 10:1-48

The early church had to deal with the sin of racism. God clearly
directed believers to share the gospel with the Gentiles and
confirmed their reception of it.

✞   God Wants Us to View All People as He Does

     (Acts 10:1-33)

Prejudice is so deeply seated in the heart of man that it
takes the power of God to erase it. The Holy Spirit directed
Peter to go with the delegation from Cornelius to a Gentile
     household.

✞   God Will Save Anyone Who Responds to the Gospel in Faith

     (Acts 10:34-48)

The gospel is for every person regardless of nationality.
     God shows no partiality.

     into a brother.

needs of many through the power of Jesus' name.

FAMILY THEME: THE CHURCH HAS A PURPOSE

Acts 2:1-47

As people from all over the world flocked to Jerusalem for Pentecost,
the Holy Spirit fell on God's people and the crowds understood the
gospel.

✞   The Holy Spirit Empowers the Church

     (Acts 2:1-13)

In a supernatural way, the Holy Spirit empowered the
believers in Jerusalem to share the gospel with thousands
     at Pentecost.

✞   The Church Proclaims the Gospel

     (Acts 2:14-41)

Peter preached a powerful sermon, and 3,000 people
     responded in repentance and baptism.

✞   The Church Lives Out the Gospel

     (Acts 2:42-47)

Through the teaching of the apostles, the fellowship and
brotherly love of the believers, and the blessings of the
Lord, the early church grew daily.

FAMILY THEME: GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS MIRACULOUS POWER

Exodus 14:1-31

God parted the sea to deliver the children of Israel from the armies
of Egypt and to bolster their faith in Him.

✞   God May Allow Us to Face Seemingly Impossible Situations

     (Exodus 14:1-12)

When they couldn't turn back because of the army behind
them and they couldn't go forward because of the sea ahead,
the children of Israel had to depend on God.

✞   God Has the Power to See Us Through Any Difficulty

     (Exodus 14:13-31)

Their shoes were not even muddy as they passed through
the path in the middle of the sea. God moved in miraculous
     ways on their behalf.

FAMILY THEME: GOD DELIVERS HIS PEOPLE

Exodus 12:1-42

In the tenth plague, God struck down the firstborn of Egypt but
passed over the Israelites who obeyed His commands. The
yearly Passover celebration was instituted.

✞   God Provides Deliverance Through the Blood of the Lamb

     (Exodus 12:1-30)

A lamb without defect was slain so the Lord could see the
blood and pass over. The Isrealites obeyed and God was
     true to His promise.

✞   God Sets His People Free

     (Exodus 12:31-42)

The Passover marked the end of Egyptian slavery and the

FAMILY THEME: GOD PREPARES US FOR SERVICE

Exodus 2:1-25 ; 3:1-22

God uses people and circumstances to prepare His children for
the roles He would have them fill.

✞   God Prepares Us to Serve Him

     (Exodus 2:1-25)

The people and events in Moses' life both preserved his
life, molded his early development, and prepared him for
the specific challenges he would face as Israel's deliverer.

✞   God Has a Place of Service for Each of Us

     (Exodus 3:1-22)

God called Moses to a life of service to Him as the
deliverer of His people. He did not permit any of Moses'
excuses but gave him specific instructions, powerful
tools, and reliable helpers for the task ahead.

 FAMILY THEME: JESUS CONQUERED DEATH

John 20:1-31

The Romans crucified many people in the time they ruled the
world. Jesus was unique among these executions because He
didn't stay dead.

✞   Evidence at the Empty Tomb Pointed to the Resurrection

     (John 20:1-10)

The stone rolled away, the empty tomb, and the neatly
arranged grave clothes convinced Jesus' followers that
     His body was not there.

✞   Jesus Appeared to His Followers and Sent Them to
     Share the Good News

     (John 20:11-23)

Mary Magdelene, after her encounter with the angels,
met the risen Savior in the garden. Later He joined the
     disciples in a locked room.

✞   Jesus Gave Thomas Undeniable Evidence

     (John 20:24-31)

Though Thomas was not there when Jesus met with
the other disciples, he was completely convinced of
the Resurrection when Jesus met them eight days
     later.
